Disaster Recovery

The Community Foundation of Johnson County (CFJC) 2008 Disaster Fund is administered by a volunteer committee of community members formed to assist in the resource development initiatives for the unmet needs of the Johnson County community as a result of a natural disaster. All applications are subject to CFJC Disaster Fund Committee review and CFJC Board of Directors approval.

In accordance with Embrace Iowa, a volunteer committee formed to lead private section fundraising efforts across the state of Iowa, the Community Foundation of Johnson County is now making grant funding available in response to the immediate, short and long-term unmet needs of victims through responding social service agencies and communities located within Johnson County. It is desired that funds be used to leverage additional support for other sources including funds from public sector programs as well as private sector philanthropy.
