Johnson County Livable Community
In 2008, following a three-year review, comprehensive survey and extensive data collection, the Johnson County Board of Supervisors created an initiative to aid seniors and appointed a 16-member policy board. Johnson County Livable Community (JCLC) board members serve three-year terms and direct the work of nearly 20 action teams and work groups.
More than 200 individuals and groups from local, state, national, public and private and media organizations make up JCLC partners’ resource network and share innovative ideas about livability and community improvement to assist and encourage successful aging throughout Johnson County.
JCLC agency partners offer inventive programs to help our seniors. Our partners connect seniors with resources and choices that allow them to maintain personal independence and an active and engaging civic and social life. These public and private coalitions enhance our area’s extraordinary quality of life and boost economic development and entrepreneurial businesses that support our senior residents.
