Iowa Youth Writing Project

The Iowa Youth Writing Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing writing resources to Iowa school-age kids via volunteers from Iowa City's literary community. Our goal is to provide in-school writing tutoring and writing workshops in fiction, poetry, nonfiction, publishing and to provide mentorship and resources for college essays and applications, all free of charge to students. We also develop project-oriented programming, such as our recent Summer Writing program, a week of creative writing workshops for teenagers in Iowa City and several participants from the nationally-recognized youth nonprofit 826 Valencia.
