Iowa City Community School District Foundation
Created in 1981, the Iowa City Community School District Foundation is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 organization that generates generate financial resources to enhance the education of all students in the Iowa City Community School District. The ICCSD Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors and employs an executive director and business manager to further its mission of support for the local K-12 public school system.
The Foundation’s unrestricted Excellence Fund is responsible for providing annual grants to the school district to support enrichment programs and projects not possible through regular state educational funding. The goal of the ICCSD Foundation is to “reach every child, every year” by funding grants across grade levels, across curricular areas throughout the school district.
The ICCSD Foundation also assists parent and school groups in their fundraising efforts for the schools with gift acknowledgments, donor recognition and database support during their campaigns.
