Big Brothers Big Sisters Endowment Fund

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with mentors who have a measurable impact on youth. Our vision is to match a Big to every child who needs and wants one.

We are able to accomplish this mission through three specific programs. Community-based mentoring, School Buddy matches and the Academic Mentoring Program are the three areas we believe are making a BIG difference in Johnson County.

The programs of BBS of Johnson County have proven not only valuable with more than 800 matches, but also effective. In addition, while volunteers agree to a one-year commitment, the average length of a match is more than two years. In fact, many of the relationships continue into the children's adult lives.
