JJYD launches fund-raising effort to aid Johnson County children
Sadly, it's a fact. Children who are homeless or low-income are at risk to drop out of school and get into trouble.
A partnership between the Johnson County Juvenile Justice Youth Development (JJYD) Program and the Community Foundation of Johnson County invites the public to a "stay-at-home tea" to help make a difference in the lives of at risk children in Johnson County. Instead of adding to an already busy schedule, the Children's Initiative Coordinating Committee invites you to sit back and enjoy a cup of tea, provided by United Foods Inc., and consider making a contribution to the Children's Initiative Charitable Giving Fund.
Through the support of many, the Children's Initiative is making a positive impact on our children. During the past year, homeless, low-income and at-risk youth have participated in a host of enriching and engaging activities including swim classes, gymnastics, sports teams and camps, music lessons.
These opportunities would not possible without assistance from generous contributors. You too can make a difference in the lives of Johnson County youth with a contribution to the Children's Initiative Charitable Giving Fund. This fund provides on-going support to children who are at risk and in need:
- Your check for $25 will provide swimming lessons for a child.
- Your check for $50 will provide music lessons for a child.
- Your check for $100 will provide martial arts training for a child.
To make a tax-deductive gift, checks should be made payable to the Community Foundation of Johnson County, and include in the memo line "Children's Initiative Charitable Giving Fund."
