Community Foundation to host grant writing workshop August 25
The Community Foundation of Johnson County (CFJC) will host a grant writing workshop for area nonprofit organizations on Tuesday, August 25. The workshop will be held at the Sheraton Iowa City Hotel in downtown Iowa City. Registration will open at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast. The workshop begins at 8:30 a.m. Lunch is on your own.
Jill Smith and LT Smith of LT & J Consulting in association with the Larned A. Waterman Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center will present the morning workshop, which is geared to grant writing and a review of the CFJC's on-line grant application process. In the afternoon, representatives of RSM McGladrey will present Understanding Financial Reports. Nonprofit organization board members are invited to this portion of the workshop.
The cost of the workshop is $15 with limited materials. The deadline to register for the workshop is August 21. A grant writing workbook is available along with comprehensive materials for $75. The deadline to register and order a workbook is August 18.
