Community Foundation grant applications due Oct. 1
IOWA CITY – The Community Foundation of Johnson County (CFJC) will accept grant applications for the 2010 calendar year through October 1.
Grants may be submitted for programming or capital projects in six focus areas.
For the first time the grant application can be completed and submitted on-line. Nonprofit, 501.c.3 organizations can apply for grants by visiting the Foundation’s Web site at www.communityfoundationofjohnsoncounty.org.
Applicants will be assigned a password when they start the process, which will allow nonprofit organization staff to complete the application in multiple phases if they are interrupted. Applicants will also be required to attach a budget and financial information with the application.
The grant application deadline is October 1 at 5 p.m.
CFJC hosted a one-day Grant Writing Workshop to assist nonprofit organizations with grant applications. Workshop presenters included Jill Smith of LT & J Consulting in association with the Larned A. Waterman Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center and representatives of RSM McGladrey.
