About The Foundation

The Community Foundation of Johnson County provides a means to contribute to specific organizations, general areas of concern or the common good; pool and manage endowment funds for local nonprofit organizations; and to distribute funds to benefit the greater community good.

Launched in 2000, the Community Foundation of Johnson County is a 501.c.3 nonprofit organization that builds resources, manages those resources, and pays it forward through grants to local nonprofit organizations.

An active board directs Foundation activities and policies, and Executive Director Michael Stoffregen manages day-to-day operations. Our office in the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce offices is located at the corner of Washington and Gilbert in downtown Iowa City.

The Community Foundation of Johnson County serves communities throughout Johnson County and draws support from local residents, families, corporations and others who want to give back to the Johnson County community.

Each year the Community Foundation of Johnson County undergoes an audit of financial documents and operating procedures. The most recent audit is on file at our office location and may be viewed during office hours.
